Description
Lower Townsend Farmhouse is a detached farmhouse built in the late 17th century. It features dressed stone walls and a slate roof, with brick stacks at both gables. The building has two storeys and two windows on the front, which are three- and four-light stone mullions with hollow chamfers. There is a separate label above the left-hand ground floor window. The upper floor windows are three-light and four-light without labels. The central front doorway has a depressed-arch head and chamfered jambs, leading to a panelled door with a glass light above, which dates from the 20th century. At the rear, there is a short extension from the 19th century that includes one brick stack and features two-light casements.
