Description

Bottom Farmhouse is a detached farmhouse dating from the early 18th century. It is constructed of dressed stone with a thatched roof and brick stacks at the gable ends. The two-storey farmhouse has four to five windows, featuring two-light wooden casements with horizontal glazing-bars and wooden sills, which are replacements. Segmental brick arches above the ground-floor windows indicate the original window openings. A 20th-century French window is located on the right-hand side of the ground floor, and the front door, situated slightly left of centre, is a 20th-century plank door. A rear range, built around the 18th century, adjoins the west end and also has a thatched roof. The interior of the house is not original.
