GV II

Detached former farmhouse. Mid C17. Rubble-stone walls with dressed stone quoins. Slate roof with stone gable-copings and ovolo-moulded kneelers. Rebuilt C20 stone stacks at each gable. South elevation, 2 storeys with dormers. 2 windows, 3-light stone mullions, hollow-chamfered and one 4-light at right hand. Separate labels, wooden casements. One C20 bull's eye over front door. 3 C20 dormers, with 2-light wooden casements, leaded, with hipped slate roofs. Front doorway right of centre, with depressed-arch head and jambs, straight chamfered, C20 plank door. Rear (north range), also C17, possibly part of a unit system, 2 storeys, 2 windows with 2-light stone mullions. C20 refenestration on the west side. Originally a 2-unit range with open fireplace and bread oven in north end. C20 continuous outshut in the angle with re-set C17 jambs and head of doorway. Plank door. (RCHM, Dorset I, p.9 (28).)
