Description

No. 60 Dorchester Road is a detached house that was formerly two houses, with the west section dating from the late 17th century and the east section likely from the late 18th century. The building features brick walls, some of which are plastered, and a thatched roof with brick stacks at both ends and the center. It stands two storeys tall with a single-storey lean-to at the east end.

On the ground floor, there are three casement windows with glazing bars, one of which has replaced the original door. The first floor also has three similar windows. The west section is at a lower level and includes a glazed porch with a ledged door. The ground floor of this section has two casement windows with glazing bars, while the first floor has two casement windows with horizontal bars. The lower extension to the west features one casement window.

Inside, the west section has a deep-chamfered ceiling beam and a large open fireplace that has been altered; it features a cambered timber lintel and the remains of a bread oven. The east section has been altered internally but still retains some chamfered ceiling beams.
