Description

The building at 27 Long Street, Cerne Abbas (formerly listed as No 117), is a cottage dating back to the 17th century, though significantly altered in the 20th century. It has rendered, whitewashed walls and a clay tile roof with stone slab eaves. The cottage is two storeys high and has four 20th-century 2-light casement windows. A sash window with 20 panes is located on the right-hand side of the ground floor. A large opening on the left-hand side of the ground floor, covered by a timber lintel, serves as a car port. A 20th-century front door is situated in the centre of the building. Inside, a large open fireplace is found at the right-hand end, and there are moulded ceiling beams.
