Description

Chescombe House comprises two attached cottages dating from the 18th century, significantly altered in the 20th century. The cottages have roughcast walls painted white, with roofs of Roman tile and slate. Brick stacks are visible at the left-hand end of the slate roof and at the right gable. The cottages are two storeys high and have a three-window front to each. No. 31 features sashes with glazing-bars, as well as two 3-light casements. No. 33 has 2- and 3-light metal casements, also with glazing-bars, dating to the 20th century. Both cottages have 20th-century wooden front doors located towards the party wall. The building has group value, contributing to the character of the surrounding area.
