Description
Crown House is an attached farmhouse located on the south side of Long Street in Cerne Abbas. It dates from the early 17th century and has undergone some changes in the 20th century, particularly in its windows. The building features rubble-stone walls that are rendered, and it has a reconstituted stone slate roof. There are 18th-century brick stacks positioned at the left-hand party wall and at the ridge near the center on the right.
The house is two storeys high and has four windows. The first floor includes three- and four-light wood-framed casements with lead lights, while the ground floor has two coupled 20th-century sash windows and a 19th-century two-light casement. The doors are located left of center, with a 19th-century plank door featuring two top lights, and a 20th-century plank door to the right of center. Inside, the house has chamfered ceiling beams. A full inspection of the interior is required.
