Description
No. 103 Portway is a detached house dating from the early 19th century. The structure features walls made of stone, brick, and plastered cob, which are colourwashed, and it has a thatched roof with a brick stack. The house is positioned at right angles to the road and consists of one storey with attics. There is a lean-to extension on the east side, which has a corrugated iron roof and a parapet on the north wall, where a flush door is located. The main walls are buttressed.
The elevation facing the road includes one ground floor casement window that has a central glazing bar. In the attic, there is a horizontally sliding sash window with glazing bars. A recent single-storey extension has been added to the south, featuring a thatched roof and casement windows. Inside, the main ground floor room boasts a large open fireplace with a timber lintel and a bread oven.
