Description
No. 38 is a house, largely dating to the early 19th century, though it may incorporate an earlier core. The exterior is stuccoed, with a rear wall constructed of ironstone at ground floor level and brick above. The roof is covered with Swithland slate, hipped in style. The house is two stories high and five bays wide. The right-hand bay lacks a ground floor window and features a blind window above. A doorway is situated in the right-hand bay, featuring an open pediment supported by reeded columns and containing an eight-panelled door with a lozenge-glazed overlight. There is one 12-light sash window to the left of the doorway, followed by a triple-light sash window. Five 12-light sash windows are positioned on the upper floor. All windows are set within moulded wooden architraves. A gable and axial stack are present. A length of early 19th-century garden wall runs to the right, built of coursed ironstone rubble with stone copings.
