Description
This is a house located at 29 High Street, likely built in the early 18th century, with alterations and an increase in height made in the 19th century. The building features a rendered exterior over what may be an ironstone ground floor and brick above, as seen in the gable wall, and it has a cruck frame. The roof is thatched and the house has one and a half storeys with a two-unit plan. The doorway is positioned to the right, adjacent to a stack, while a long, low 12-light sash window is located to its left. The end bay contains a 3-light sash window with a cambered brick head and keystone. Above, there are three eyebrow dormers fitted with casement windows. The front wall is buttressed, and there is a 19th-century datestone in the gable, though it is illegible, likely marking the date of the heightening and other alterations.
