Description
Gate Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse constructed with coursed rubble-stone lias walls and a thatched roof that features both half hipped and gabled sections. It has renewed brick stacks located at the right-hand gable, backing onto a cross-passage. The building is 1½ storeys high and has four windows, which are 2 and 3-light wooden casements from the 20th century, some of which include glazing bars and crown glass. The windows have wooden cills and lintels, and there are three half dormers. The front door, positioned to the left of center, is a plank and studded door from the 20th century, and it is sheltered by a hipped thatch porch canopy supported by two wooden posts. A raised stone pathway leads to the front door. Inside, there is a mid-chamfered beam with a filleted stop and a blocked fireplace with a segmental lintel above it. The interior also features plank doors with iron hinges.
