Description
The Close House is a late 18th-century building that has been converted into four flats. It features a two-storey red brick front with five windows. The facade includes three hipped dormers and sash windows that have been altered to remove glazing bars. An enriched modillion eaves cornice adds detail to the roofline. The windows are adorned with keystones, and there is a prominent doorway that has a pedimented hood supported by elaborately enriched brackets. The cornice and pediment also feature dentil detailing, while the frieze is decorated with swag enrichment. The door itself has six panels set in fielded panelled reveals, and the frontage of the house is set back from the street.
