Description

Eastgate House is a building, now converted into flats, dating from the 18th century. It is two storeys high with an attic, and originally had six windows. The roof is red tiled and gabled, with three flat-roofed dormers. The exterior is pink washed brick, previously red brick, and features a wooden cornice. The windows are tall sash windows set in reveals within flat arches, retaining their original glazing bars. An entrance is located on the west front, which is the lower north-south wing on that side. This entrance is a prostyle porch with rendered sides, engaged Doric columns and pilasters, a moulded frieze, a rectangular pediment, panelled reveals, and a fielded panelled door with the upper part cut away and glazed. A modern addition is present in the north-east corner.
