Description

Hewood Cottages, consisting of Nos 4, 5, and 6, is a range of cottages dating from the 17th to 18th century. The cottages are built with stone rubble and have plastered walls. They feature a thatched roof with gabled and hipped ends, as well as a hipped corner, and are arranged in an L-shaped plan. The cottages are one and a half storeys high and have four and six window ranges, with various small casements from the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries. The doorways are plain and include both glazed and plank doors. Additionally, there are brick chimney stacks located over the ridge and at the gable ends.
