Description

The cottages at 4 and 5 are a composite structure dating to the 17th and 18th centuries, built in phases. They are constructed of coursed limestone rubble with a thatched roof, and have brick ridge and end stacks. The cottages are one storey and attic in height. The ground floor features eight single-light and two-light casement windows of varying dates, each with wooden lintels. Visible wall-tie ends are present. There are three two-light casement eyebrow dormers in the roof. A 20th-century porch addition has been built to the right of No.4, while the entrance to No.5 is at the rear. Internally, the cottages retain spine beams and inglenook fireplaces with plain bressumers.
