Description

The gate piers, located approximately 10 meters east of Mappowder Court, date from around 1800. They are made of monolithic stone carved to resemble rusticated ashlar and feature plinths and moulded caps topped with busts representing moors. The walls on either side of the courtyard are constructed from coursed squared rubble with moulded copings. The gate piers are partly made of brick and partly of stone, with moulded caps and some ball finials. The south gate is made of wrought iron.
