Description
Blacksmith's Cottage is a detached cottage built in the late 19th century. It features rubble-stone walls with dressed stone quoins and a stone string course above the ground floor windows. The roof is covered with clay tiles and has gable ends, along with a gablet on the left side. A brick chimney stack is located at the center ridge, with additional polygonal and square stacks on a stone plinth. The cottage has one and a half storeys and includes two windows, which are 2-light cast-iron casements with lozenge lights and central stone mullions, along with relieving arches above them. The central stone doorway has a depressed-arch head and a relieving arch above it, featuring a plank-and-muntin door with two strap hinges from the 19th century. There is a 20th-century brick rear wing that is not included in the listing.
