Description

The Old School House is a detached cottage that was formerly the schoolmistress's house, built in the later 19th century. It features stone walls that are roughcast, with a moulded stone plat-band. The roof is plain clay tile, with a gablet at the left front and end gables. There is a brick stack at the center ridge, which has a brick plinth and three polygonal stacks above. The building is one and a half storeys tall and has two windows with cast-iron casements that include lozenge lights. At the center, there is a porch with a depressed-arch head and chamfered jambs, leading to a plank-and-muntin door from the 19th century. Additionally, there are two short rear ranges that have hipped tile roofs.
