Description

This is a small, detached cottage, likely dating from the 18th century. It has brick walls, with a portion plastered and resting on an ironstone plinth. The roof is thatched, with a coped gable on the west end, and brick end stacks. The cottage is set at a right angle to the road. It comprises a single storey and attic. A brick porch with a corrugated iron roof and a part-glazed door is at the front. The ground floor has one double-hung sash window with glazing bars. The attic has two and a half dormers - one featuring a double-hung sash window with glazing bars, and one with a casement window also with glazing bars. A corrugated iron shed is attached to the front of the building. The main ground floor room contains a large, open fireplace. The cottage has seen few alterations. It is documented as RCHM Monument 17.
