Description
Galpins Cottage is a building that likely dates back to the 17th century, with a rear wing added in the 18th century. It features brick walls and a thatched roof, along with a brick chimney. The cottage has one storey and attics, while the rear wing is two storeys tall. There is a single-storey lean-to to the north of the rear wing, which has plastered walls and an asbestos roof. The original layout was a three-room lobby entrance plan, and it includes a ledged door.
On the ground floor, there are three casement windows with lead lights. The attic contains two dormers with casements; one has lead lights, while the other is under repair. The rear wing has one first-floor window with lead lights, but the other windows are modern. The main block's rear wing has been rebuilt and features a modern window. The interior has undergone significant alterations, with the chimney rebuilt using an old lintel. Some ceiling beams are chamfered. The building was under repair at the time of the survey.
