Description
This is a farmhouse with origins in the 17th century, significantly enlarged during the 19th century. The original section was initially timber-framed, but its front wall was later rebuilt or refaced in brick and colourwashed. It has a half-hipped thatched roof with a brick stack located near the right end. It may have originally been an open hall layout. The house is one storey with an attic. A 20th-century glazed door sits beneath a flat hood supported by shaped brackets. The ground floor of this section features three casement windows with glazing bars, each set beneath a segmental arch. Three dormers with casement windows and glazing bars light the attic.
To the left is an early to mid-19th century addition constructed of brick with a slate roof and a brick stack near the centre. This section is two storeys high, with one casement window with glazing bars under a segmental arch on the ground floor, and two similar windows on the first floor. A brick wing at the rear of the older section, likely dating to the 18th century, also has a thatched roof. A small 20th-century lean-to addition is present at the rear of this wing.
Inside the main ground floor room of the original section, a large open fireplace has been partially built up. Much of the original timbering is covered, however an exposed timber frame partition between the original section and the 19th-century addition indicates that the latter replaces an earlier range.
