Description
22 East Street is a mid-19th century building featuring stucco with ashlar dressings. It stands three storeys tall and has a moulded eaves cornice and a parapet. The facade includes three ranges of sash windows with moulded surrounds, with the first-floor windows adorned with cornices. The ground floor, likely from the late 19th century, showcases a Tuscan pilaster order with a balustrade, except for the left-hand doorway, which is framed by Doric three-quarter columns and has a parapet that rises in a semi-circle at the center. There are two segment-headed windows with moulded surrounds and keystones, as well as one segment-headed door featuring six moulded panels and a keystone. The main door, also with six moulded panels, is set in a round arch with a keystone. This building is part of a group that includes Nos 8 to 36 (even) and the United Reformed and Methodist Church.
