Description

This is an early 19th-century building on East Street, constructed of red brick. It is three storeys high and features an eaves cornice adorned with ball-shaped dentils and a parapet. The second floor has three ranges of sash windows with glazing bars. The ground floor incorporates a round-headed window, a door with two moulded panels and a fanlight, and a good shopfront. The shopfront is made of rusticated stucco and features three fluted Ionic columns supporting an entablature and a balcony with a cast-iron balustrade decorated with anthemion motifs. The building is part of a group value context with numbers 8 to 36 (even) East Street, along with the United Reformed and Methodist Church.
