Description
Higher Farm Cottage is a detached house that was originally built in the late 18th century and has since been converted into two cottages, although it is now used as a single residence. The exterior features rubble-stone walls, which are rendered on the rear side, with brick quoins and window dressings. The roof is covered with slate and has stone-coped gables. There are brick stacks that have been rebuilt at the right-hand gable. The building is two storeys high with attics and has three windows, which are tripartite sashes with thick glazing bars, wooden cills, and lintels. A 20th-century, two-light wooden casement window has been added in the former right-hand doorway. The left-hand front door is a six-panel door with flush and ribbed panels, featuring two upper lights that are glazed. A 20th-century glazed porch has also been added.
