Description
Lower Farmhouse is a farmhouse built in the late 17th century, with alterations made in the 18th century. It features rubble-stone walls that have been rendered and given artificial rusticated stone quoins during the 18th century. The roof is slate with gable ends, and there are brick stacks located at the left-hand gable, the center of the ridge, and the right-hand gable. The building has two storeys and four windows, which are three-light wooden casements with one horizontal glazing bar. In the attic, there is one two-light casement window with lead lights and early glass. The front door is a flush-panelled design with wooden framing, dating from the 19th century, and there is a rendered porch with a pitched slate roof. The interior follows a lobby-entrance plan.
