Description
No. 147 High Street is a house located at the end of a row, dating from the early to mid 19th century. It is constructed from squared and coursed stone, featuring a large squared block at the right gable end, and has a slate roof. The building stands three storeys tall with an attic and has a one-windowed façade. It is fitted with plate-glass horned sash windows at three levels, and to the left, there is a 19th-century flush-panelled door with a shallow five-pane overlight set in deep reveals. The house has large flush alternating quoins, raised verges, and a brick stack on each gable. Each gable also includes a small attic light. This house is part of the best remaining row of houses in Underhill and serves as an effective visual stop at the lower end of the street.
