Description
No. 163 is a mid-19th century house located in a row on High Street, Fortuneswell. It is constructed of rubble with a slate roof and stands two storeys high, featuring a single window. The upper storey has a 4-pane sash window, while the lower storey has paired 4-pane sashes beneath a wooden lintel, which may indicate that it was once a shop front. To the left of the building is a 6-panel part-glazed door with an overlight. There is a brick stack on the right side, a plain gable to the left, and a deep pent extension at the rear. The interior has not been inspected. The front of the house includes a small stone-paved terrace with a rubble retaining wall topped by a simple iron railing, and there are four concrete steps leading up to the door. The property has been recently restored, and the details are sympathetic to the original design, especially in relation to the adjoining Nos. 159 and 161.
