Description
This is a house of 17th-century origin located on East Knighton Lane in Winfrith Newburgh. The house has a thatched roof, brick stack, and was originally constructed with plastered walls. It is a single storey with attics. An attached former outbuilding of similar construction stands to the north, with a tiled lean-to addition projecting from its north side. The main house has two ledged doors, and on the ground floor, two horizontally sliding sash windows with glazing bars. Two dormers with matching sash windows light the attic space. The outbuilding has a ledged door and a similar window, while the lean-to has a single ledged door. The main ground floor room contains a large open fireplace with a cambered timber lintel and a bread oven, alongside a chamfered ceiling beam. The outbuilding features a smaller open fireplace with a timber lintel. The building was under repair at the time of the survey.
