This is an obelisk located 10 metres east of the Parish Church in Powerstock, dating from the mid-18th century. It features a stone base and pedestal with a moulded cornice. The obelisk tapers upwards and is topped with a ball finial, standing approximately 12 feet high. Near the top, the arms of Burt are carved, along with Latin inscriptions commemorating Thomas Burt, who died in 1747, and Thomas Burt senior of Mappercombe, who died on 12 April 1749.
