Description
The Burt Monument is an altar tomb located in the churchyard, 4 metres south of the south chapel of the Church of All Saints. It dates from the early 19th century and is made of Ham stone. Designed in a Soanian style, it features a step base, a moulded plinth, and a cuboid pier with reeded corner pilasters. The top has moulding with gablets on each face and corner anthemion, along with a central step and an urn finial. The monument is small, with a base measuring 850 millimetres square and an overall height of 1.7 metres. It commemorates Naboth Burt and his wife Harriet, although the inscriptions are very worn and the death dates are not legible.
