Description

The Pump and the railings enclosing the former pound are 19th-century structures. The pump features cast ironwork and has a rendered brick base with stone copings. The pound enclosure consists of walls approximately 900 mm high, topped with a 900 mm high railing that has twisted points and anthemion cast finials on curve-braced standards. On the east side of the enclosure, there is a pump set in a recess, which is now encased in corrugated iron with a rounded roof. Only the large cast iron spout and the handle, designed for circular motion, are visible, along with a plain cast-iron trough in front.
