Description
Knapp House, formerly known as Way Cottage, is a house and attached cottage located in Powerstock Village. The main house is dated 1781, as indicated by two 'tulips' above the front door. It features dressed stone walls and a thatch roof with stone gable copings. There are 20th-century brick stacks at the end gables. The building is two storeys high and has three sash windows with glazing bars, stone cills, and wooden lintels. The central front door has recessed panels and glass lights, topped by a flat canopy supported by brackets.
The attached cottage, known as Sunnyview, is located at the rear and dates from the 19th century. It has rubble stone walls and a thatch roof, with one 20th-century brick stack at the rear gable. This cottage is also two storeys tall and features two windows, which are three- and four-light wooden casements with glazing bars. The entrance is a plank door located on the east gable-end wall.
