Description

The churchyard wall and attached lych gate, located to the north and west of the church in Powerstock, date from the 18th century. The wall is made of coursed rubble stone and stands approximately 20 feet tall on the west side, continuing southwest to meet the Old Cottage and extending east to the lych gate. The lych gate itself is dated 1859 and features dressed stone walls topped with a hipped stone slab roof. It has buttresses at the corners and a cornice adorned with carved eagles and lions. The entrances on both the front and rear have pointed segmental arches with wave-mouldings.
