Description

This is a road bridge located 30 meters west-northwest of the Bull Inn in Sturminster Newton, dating from the mid-19th century. The bridge is constructed of ashlar stone and features a single span with a segmental arch. It is supported by battered buttresses on both sides. The stone parapet has no mouldings, and the coping is flush with the wall. This bridge is part of a group that includes the town bridge and the arched causeway leading to it, as noted in "RCHM, Dorset Vol III" published by HMSO in 1970.
