Description
Beech House is a house from the 17th century, with additions and modifications from the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries. It features squared and coursed rubble walls with ashlar dressings, and a slate roof with gable ends and rendered stone stacks. The building has a T-plan layout, with an 18th-century extension to the right that connects to a former ancillary building. There is a 19th-century addition at the rear left. The front of the house has a projecting two-storey and attic porch. The main structure is two storeys high with an attic and cellars, consisting of four bays. All main windows are stone mullioned, with chamfered jambs and mullions, and have casements without glazing bars, along with square moulded stone labels. The porch features two-light square-headed casements without glazing bars. There are three dormers in the attic with wooden casements, and the house has one central and two end stacks. The former ancillary building to the right has a gable front and features 20th-century stone mullioned windows that match the original range. The connecting range has small wooden casements under segmental arches. Inside, there are some exposed chamfered ceiling beams, along with doors and fittings dating from around 1800.
