Description
The Old Malt House is a building that was likely constructed in the early 18th century and was remodeled and joined around 1800. It originally consisted of two houses that have now been combined into one. The walls are made of rubble, brick, and possibly cob, and are partially rendered. The building features thatched roofs with gable ends that face the street, and there are brick stacks at the ends. It has two storeys and an attic, along with a cellar. The windows are irregularly arranged, consisting of 2 and 3-light casements with horizontal glazing bars. A central six-panel door is located under a rectangular fanlight, framed by an 18th-century pilaster surround and an open pediment. There is a segmental brick arch leading to the cellar. Inside, there is a staircase that dates to around 1800.
