Description
New Cow Bridge, located on Musselburgh Road in Dalkeith, is a road bridge built in the earlier to mid-19th century. It features a single span with a broad semicircular arch constructed of ashlar stone. The bridge has battered piers that extend from the abutments and channelled bull-faced spandrels. Below the parapet, there is a half saddleback course, and the parapet itself has saddleback coping, although there are modern repairs on the northeast side. Additionally, there is a pyramidal-capped pier on the northwest side, which is connected to a rubble boundary wall of the Dalkeith Estate.
