Description
The gateway at Dark Walk, Dalkeith House, dates from the 18th century. It features a depressed-arched design with wrought-iron gates and low walls that curve slightly to the east, truncated at both ends. The gateway is topped with decorative scroll-work and includes two-leaf gates. The walls are made of rubble with a flat ashlar coping, and there are dies flanking the gateway. Tall wrought-iron spearhead railings extend continuously from the gateway.
