Description
The Kennels is a house, barns, and stables that enclose a courtyard, dating from the mid-18th century. The house features plastered walls, a hipped tiled roof with stone eaves courses, and a central brick chimney stack. It has two storeys and attics, with a central door that has a flat hood supported by brackets. The ground floor includes two double-hung sash windows with glazing bars, while the first floor has three similar windows. The attic contains two hipped dormers on the southeast side.
The courtyard is bordered by two large barns located on the northeast and southwest sides, although part of the southwest barn has been demolished. These barns have brick walls topped with a dentil cornice at the eaves, tiled roofs with stone eaves courses, and coped gables. The walls are buttressed and feature slit windows, with one elliptical arched doorway in the northeast barn. The roof trusses of the barns have curved braces.
On the northwest side, there is a single-storey stable range with walls that are partly brick and partly boarded, also featuring tiled roofs. A brick wall encloses the courtyard on the southeast side.
