Description
The courtyard buildings at Heartsease date from the 18th century and consist of a long, low box-frame range featuring modern trusses and a corrugated iron roof. The courtyard wall is timber-studded and weatherboarded, resting on a stone plinth. The building includes large double barn doors and several smaller doors, including a loft door, all of which are vertically boarded.
On the northwest side, there is a 19th-century single-storey and attic rubble range that was formerly used as stables. This section has a steeply pitched slate roof and a weathervane on the east gable ends. The windows are casement style with cambered heads, set in blocked stable openings.
