Description
Heartsease is a two-storey building featuring a four-window front made of coursed rubble with heightened eaves. It has band courses above the windows. The roof is a later addition, covered with slate and has a shallow pitch with wide eaves. There are two large projecting stone chimney stacks at the ends, which now have brick stems. The windows are fitted with voussoir lintels that have thin keystones, and they feature cross-frame ironwork casements. The entrance has a late Georgian doorcase with plain pilasters and an entablature. The door itself is recessed and has six scribed panels along with a three-pane rectangular fanlight, with similar detailing on the reveals. At the rear, there is a triple-gabled lower extension made of brick, which includes a brick stack, plain bargeboards, and a lean-to beyond.
Inside, the building retains a late Georgian staircase that has a plain handrail.
