Description
No. 45 High West Street is a Grade II listed building from the 18th century, featuring a stone ashlar front and standing three storeys tall. The entire ground floor has been converted into a garage front. The upper part of the elevation is divided into two roughly equal sections. The left section has rusticated quoins and a moulded string at the second floor level, with quoins above the string replaced by sunk pilaster-like panels. It is topped with a cornice and a steeply-pitched pediment. There are two sash windows on the first floor and one round-headed window on the second floor, with the main cornice returning as imposts. The right section of the front has one window, a parapet wall, and a continuation of the string and cornice. This facade gives the impression of a symmetrical design that was never completed. Nos. 41 to 45 form a group.
