Description
No. 24 St Mary's Street is a Grade II* listed building dating from 1671. It is a three-storey structure built in ashlar with three dormers, two of which are gabled and one is cambered in the center. The front features three windows, each with moulded stone surrounds and a triple keystone, and double-hung sashes that include glazing bars. On the ground floor, there are two windows without glazing bars, and a stone band continues across the cills. The entrance has a carved door from the 19th century, topped by a rectangular fanlight with Gothic glazing. The building has a plinth and a moulded dentil eaves cornice, with slightly smaller keystones compared to No. 23 next door. At the rear, there are two storeys and attics, featuring two hipped dormers and three windows, one of which is blocked. The lower section has two storeys with three windows. The roof is steep and covered with stone slates, and it has a moulded eaves cornice. Nos. 2 to 26 St Mary's Street form a group.
