Description
This is a late 18th-century building on the north side of High West Street. It is constructed of yellow brick and extends to three storeys. The front facade features three ranges of sash windows. A doorway projects forward, framed by Doric pilasters supporting an entablature. The doorway contains a six-panel door with a fanlight, set within panelled reveals and a coffered soffit. The building is part of a group that includes the Shire Hall, Holy Trinity Church, the Museum, St. Peter’s Church, and a monument to William Barnes in the churchyard immediately south of the West Tower.
