Description

This is a bank barn with an adjoining horse engine house, cartshed, and stables, dating from around the mid 19th century. It is constructed from granite rubble with granite dressings and features a scantle slate hipped roof on the barn, while the horse engine house has a semi-circular-ended roof, with the rest covered in asbestos slate. The barn has a long rectangular shape built into the bank at the rear, with loading and winnowing doorways facing each other for the loft or granary. The horse engine house is positioned at a right angle to the rear, accompanied by a later single-storey range of cartsheds and stables on the left-hand end.

The exterior has two storeys and presents an overall four-window east front. The left side features a symmetrical two-window front with central doorways, while the right side has a slightly irregular two-window front. There is a narrow doorway between the two integral fronts and a steep flight of granite steps leading to the loading doorway on the right. The original openings include two that are partly blocked, along with some old ledged doors, window shutters, and reused sashes. The interior has not been inspected.
