Description
This house, located approximately 40 metres north-west of Trelew Farmhouse, is probably from the 18th century. It features a front made of grouted granite ashlar, while the rest of the building is constructed from granite rubble with granite dressings. The roof is made of grouted scantle slate, with brick chimneys at the granite coped gable ends, and there is a corrugated iron roof over a rear lean-to. The house has an L-shaped plan, likely with a parlour on the left and a slightly larger kitchen on the right, separated by a cross passage and stair, with a later lean-to added behind the kitchen around the early 19th century.
The exterior is two storeys high and has a nearly symmetrical two-window front facing south-east, with the first-floor windows positioned closer together. The original openings include a doorway to the left of the middle, which has a ledged door. The windows are 6-pane horned sashes, likely from the late 19th or 20th century, and there is a small stair window at the rear. Inside, there are original or 19th-century partitions, floors, and roof structure, along with a large fireplace in the right-hand room.
