Description
Nyver Owen is the end house in a terrace located on Fore Street in Port Isaac. It dates from the early to mid 19th century and is constructed of stone rubble with a slate roof. The roof has a hipped end on the left and a gable end on the right, with a 20th-century brick chimney. The house was extended in the late 19th century with a gabled rear wing. It has a single-room plan, likely leading to a stair hall on the right. There is a further extension to the rear that probably serves as a second service room. The building stands two storeys high and features a regular one-window front. On the ground floor, there is a 19th-century 12-pane sash window with horns and a brick segmental arch to the left, along with a 20th-century part-glazed door to the right. The first floor has 19th-century 12-pane sashes with horns. The interior has not been inspected. This building is included for its group value as one of eight cottages in a largely unaltered 19th-century terrace.
