Description
Chy Bygham is a terraced house located on Fore Street in Port Isaac, dating from the early to mid-19th century. The building is constructed of rendered and painted stone rubble, with part of the front rebuilt in concrete blocks. It features a cement-washed slate roof with gable ends and brick chimney stacks. The house has a one-room plan with the entrance on the right, which likely leads to a stair hall. It is two storeys high and has a regular single-window front. The original early 19th-century 12-pane sash windows, which do not have horns, are located on the ground and first floors to the left. There is a 20th-century partly glazed door to the right. The interior has not been inspected. Chy Bygham is included for its group value as one of eight cottages in a largely unaltered 19th-century terrace.
