Description
Squill Cottage is a terraced house located on Fore Street in Port Isaac, dating from the early to mid 19th century. The building is constructed from rendered and painted stone rubble, topped with a slate roof featuring gable ends and brick stacks. It has a one-room plan with the entrance on the right, which likely leads to a stair hall. The front of the house is two storeys high and has a regular single-window arrangement, featuring original early 19th-century 12-pane sash windows without horns. On the ground floor, there is a sash window to the left beneath a brick segmental arch, and to the right, there is a part-glazed 20th-century door with a timber lintel. The interior has not been inspected. Squill Cottage is included for its group value as one of eight cottages in a largely unaltered 19th-century terrace.
