Description

Two wells are located beside the Earl's Drive, to the west of Lady Emma's Cottage. They were probably built in the early 19th century and are constructed from sandstone rubble. The well to the north features a rear wall made of rubble with a rectangular rubble sink and a roughly hewn round arch with a keystone above it; the arch is about 1.5 meters high, and the well building is approximately 2 meters wide. The well to the south is made of coursed sandstone rubble and has a roughly dressed round arch that is about 2 meters high, flanked by walls. It also includes a round-arched recess with a square recess in the rear wall and formerly had a trough at the back.
